1999-2000 Honda Civic EK JDM Fog Lights Installation Guide

We have received a high demand on installation for Honda Civic EK Fog lights. So we decided to write a installation guide to install our fog lights. Other user can use this guide for general rule on installing and wiring our aftermarket fog lights kit. You will require the following tools to install the fog lights properly: 1. Complete fog lights kit from ProTuninglab.com
2. General Dermal tools
3. Standard socket set
4. Philips and flat head screwdriver
5. Electrical tape and cap
Our fog lights kit will include a pair of fog lights, wiring harness, switch, mounting bracket, screws, and other misc item for installation. Before you install the fog lights on to your Civic, you will need to assemble the fog lights correctly with the corresponding hardware that is included. See photos below for detail: You will need to remove your Civic front bumper when installing the fog lights. Simply unscrew each side of the bumper and the screws located on top of the grille guard. You will then pull the bumper off with little force by moving up and downward movement. After you have taken the bumper off the car. You will notice the area where the fog lights will go to. At this temp, you will need to cut the area pictured below that is outlined by the factory. You will not need to cut the holes perfectly, since the fog lights cover will cover any imperfect cutting that you’ve done. Before not to cut the tabs where the fog lights attached to, After you cut the holes and install the fog lights, you’ll see the fog lights cover is covering the cutting edge of the area that you have previously done. Thread the harness up the right side of the rad … it’s a tight fit to get your hand in there to pull it up harness. Now you’ll need to connect the ground wire to either of the ground points in reach. Pictured on the right I used the one below the rad (see the black foam thing) and to the left of the wiring. Loosen the bolt with an 8mm, put the C connector under there and tighten it back up. Ensure that the connectors are within reach of the lamps themselves on the left and right. Ziptie everything down using the ones supplied. They’re not great so I ended up using some that I had but it’s a small point. Notice that the harness was too long in the middle so I folded it over and ziptied it down so it won’t come loose when driving. Now take the bumper and line it up to the connectors. Connect the lamps. Here’s another tip, these connectors are fully exposed to the elements. Rain, snow, salt, etc. So to ensure that I wouldn’t have a corrosion problem in the connectors I used some non-conductive grease. Now reinstall the bumper which is simply the reverse of removing. I usually line it up so it sits properly on all sides, reinstall the plastic push clips by the grill, reinstall the screws in the wheel wells and lastly the screws under the bumper. Once it’s on it’ll look pretty awesome like this.
